There are several ways to access your @nycourts.gov Outlook email account. (You do not have to be connected by VPN to your computer in the office.)

From a web browser on a computer or device

  1. Open a browser like Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
  2. Go to http://portal.office.com and click on "Sign In"
  3. Enter your court email address then click "Next." After the first time, the browser should remember this information.
  4. Enter your password and click "Sign In."
     
  5. Your identity will be verified through a text message or a phone call.
    • If you get a telephone call, follow the directions.
    • If a verification code is texted to you, enter the code in the space. You can check the box for "Don't ask again for 14 days" to reduce the number of times a verification code is required. Click "Verify."
  6. You have the option to "Stay Signed In" to reduce the number of times you have to log into your account.
  7. Click on Outlook to view and send email.

From Office 365 installed on a computer

  1. Follow the instruction above for "From a web browser"
  2. When Office 365 opens, click on "Install Office" and follow the screens.

From the Outlook app installed on a phone or tablet

  1. If you are using an Apple device, go to the App Store. If you are using an Android device, go to the Play Store.
  2. Search for the app "Outlook". Find "Microsoft Outlook" from the Microsoft Corporation.
  3. Install app on device then open the Outlook app.
  4. Enter your court email address and continue
  5. Enter your password and click "Sign In."
  6. Your identity will be verified through a text message or a phone call.
    • If you get a telephone call, follow the directions.
    • If a verification code is texted to you, enter the code in the space. Click "Verify."
  7. You may have to restart the app to continue.
  8. Click on this app to view and send email.
