Best Meeting Practices

  • Mute your microphone when not speaking to reduce background noise.
  • Avoid typing or rustling papers when you're un-muted.
  • Turn on your webcam if have one.
  • Share a Program when possible. This saves bandwidth for better video quality and also for privacy. *IOS (iPad/iPhone) users can only view Shared Desktop.
  • Sharing a Desktop allows attendees to see your desktop (programs and files on your desktop) and any pop-up notifications such as emails.
  • If you are unable to share, ask the meeting organizer to make you a Presenter.

Meeting Tips

  • You can always go to your Outlook Calendar, find your Skype meeting and edit the date and time.
  • You can also add or delete invitees. If you’re adding more attendees, you will get a prompt to send the invite to everyone again or just the new attendees.
  • If the meeting is canceled, go into your Outlook Calendar and cancel the meeting so that it clears it from yours and the invitees calendars.
  • You can set meeting options to control access to the meeting and presenter privileges.
