A long floating shelf could be added to the blank wall and may be a very easy addition to beautify the space. This will give additional space for keeping books, plants, pictures, and other decorative things without consuming floor space. The thought is more appealing to me for those who have smaller houses because every space needs to be used. It can be a wooden one giving a warm look, or it can be white for a modern room.
