If you are checking a bag, it is worth giving yourself extra time before security. Once inside, I recommend finding your gate first, particularly if you have a connection. After that, you can grab something to eat, get a coffee, or simply relax without worrying about finding your way around at the last minute.
For anyone driving, parking and CLT Airport are also worth considering ahead of time. Rideshare services, taxis, rental cars, and shuttles provide other options if you would rather not drive.
